Computer Guided Implant Surgery is now possible. Dr Jones uses images from a Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scan to produce a 3 dimensional model of the patients jaws and teeth. From this CBCT scan an extremely accurate surgical guide can be manufactured. The guide fits the patients anatomy precisely and guides the implant drills to prepare the bone to recieve a dental implant. The accuracy of this technique is unprecedented allowing for extremely accurate dental implant placement.
Using an Itero digital scanner, Dr Jones can take a digital impression of the patients dental implants or teeth and have a technician use Computer aided design/Computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) to manufacture extremely accurate crowns, bridges, and implant components.
These new technologies allow for routine placement of implants in tight challenging locations with tremendous accuracy. These new technologies represent a significant advancement in the science and practice of implant dentistry. In the years ahead they will become routine care.
